I approach a work of art intuitively. As a concept presents itself I pull images and ideas from a variety of sources and influences to round it out. Whether a mixed media piece, a gouache painting on paper, or a traditional oil painting—there is often a Classical or Renaissance element present in some form. I strive to produce work that is media rich—collage and layering of imagery allow me to mix media that are not usually found together such as oil painting on panel with pen & ink.
